The book comprehensively views the intersection between electrochemistry and botany. It attempts to inform people about the capacity of electrochemistry to provide information of interest to plant science. This includes electrophysiology, plant communication, and plant defense responses, as well as chemoecological and phylogenetic aspects.
Plant Electrochemistry: Physiology and Applications is the first monograph to deal explicitly with the intersection of electrochemistry with plant science from a two-fold perspective: the description of processes occurring in plants in terms of electrochemical concepts, and the application of vegetal matter in conventional electrochemistry.
Written by a pre-eminent plant electrochemist, this volume introduces recent contributions to electrophysiology of plants, in particular, of plant signalling. It discusses the novel approach of studying plant physiology under conditions of electrochemical ROS generation and presents the possibility of using electrochemical data for extracting phylogenetic information.
The wide variety of electroanalytical issues are treated emphasizing on the applications in food science, agriculture, pharmacology, and other application fields. It will appeal to post-graduate students, researchers and industry professionals working in engineering, plant science, chemistry, physiology, genetics, and emerging green technologies.

Antonio Doménech-Carbó is Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, University of Valencia, Spain. He is the author of more than 270 articles in indexed journals and several books.
