lt;p>Dr. Brenda Kulhanek is an associate professor at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Her past professional roles include Division VP of Clinical Education for TriStar Health in Nashville, TN; corporate AVP of Clinical Education for HCA in Nashville, TN; corporate director of informatics at Adventist Health in Sacramento, CA; and nursing informatics specialist at Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. In addition, Dr. Kulhanek has served as an adjunct faculty for graduate-level nursing informatics for almost ten years. Dr. Kulhanek holds a PhD from Capella University and is board certified in nursing informatics, nursing professional development, and nursing executive leadership. She was the president of the American Nursing Informatics Association from 2016-2017 and initiated several partnerships between ANIA and other organizations. Among her informatics publications and presentations are chapters in the Sigma Theta Tau nursing informatics textbook "Mastering Informatics: A Healthcare Handbook for Success"; the seventh edition of the "Handbook of Informatics for Nurses & Healthcare Professionals"; several modules of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONS) Workforce Development Program; two chapters in Nursing and Informatics for the 21st Century; and as a workgroup member for the 2022 edition of the Nursing Informatics Scope and Standards publication. She teaches informatics at the master's and doctoral levels at Vanderbilt University and has a particular interest in strengthening nursing through nursing informatics education, and the integration of informatics into practice to support improvement of patient outcomes.
Kathleen Mandato is the Director of Epic Training & Delivery and the Administrative/Nursing Fellowship Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has worked in the field of training and organizational development since 1996; the telecommunications field from 1999-2005; and the healthcare industry since 2005. Kathleen has an MBA and a PhD in Education with a specialization in Training & Performance Improvement. She is a registered corporate coach and is Epic Software certified in the Cadence application. She serves as a member of the Trevecca Nazarene University Healthcare Advisory Council. Kathleen also teaches healthcare related undergraduate/graduate classes as an adjunct professor. When not working, she enjoys movies, cooking and traveling.
