MATLAB Codes for Finite Element Analysis
Springer International Publishing (Verlag)
978-3-030-47951-0 (ISBN)
This book illustrates how MATLAB compact and powerful programming framework can be very useful in the finite element analysis of solids and structures. The book shortly introduces finite element concepts and an extensive list of MATLAB codes for readers to use and modify. The book areas range from very simple springs and bars to more complex beams and plates in static bending, free vibrations, buckling and time transient problems. Moreover, laminated and functionally graded material structures are introduced and solved.
Antonio J.M. Ferreira received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1986, M.Sc. in Structural Engineering in 1990, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1997, all from the University of Porto, where he is currently a Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Composite Structures, and Section Editor-in-Chief of Composites Part C: Open Access (JCOMC). Nicholas Fantuzzi received his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2006, M.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 2009, and PhD in Structural Engineering and Hydraulics in 2013, all from the University of Bologna, where he is currently Senior Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Structural Mechanics. He is Section Editor-In-Chief (Engineering Section) of Mathematical and Computational Applications (MCA).
