The tenth edition of this Directory contains over 100 new entries plus a large amount of new material, reflecting the fast-changing framework of the medical library network in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. More Healthcare Trusts have been formed, more hospitals have been merged, and there are similar changes affecting Colleges of Nursing. The Directory lists libraries wholly concerned with medicine and nursing, it also lists libraries of veterinary, pharmaceutical and occupational medicine, and information services run by medical charities. A listing is provided of professional library staff currently working in the health care sector. Full details of addresses, telephone numbers, and fax numbers are given, with the addition of e-mail and URL addresses. Details are also provided of: special collections; hours of opening; size of stock; library information systems; and special facilities (such as online searching, photocopying services and audiovisual material).
