In 2006 Francesca Radice made her Thesis in Psychology about how journaling in a diary is a healing experience. In 2012 her mom got sick and she advised her to write in a diary for dealing with cancer. Instead of a pretty journal however, her mom wrote in an ugly normal journal — and then she was gone. Years later she found a junk journal DIY on YouTube and decided to transform her mom’s diary into a beautiful book. She gifted this book to her sister’s mom and she cried when she received it! This experience became a way to elaborate her loss, honor her mother, and move on. In 2018 she started her own Youtube channel and Instagram with the mission of inspiring people to make their own journals because it was a healing, cathartic, fun, easy, and meaningful experience. She has collaborated with digital paper designers (e.g.. Vectoria Designs, Digital Collage Club), I collaborated with Daphne’s Diary magazine as a UGC, she was interviewed by “culture Scrapbooking” (a French magazine), she was one of the teachers in the online course “mixed media art summit” in 2022, she is a guest teacher for Wanderlust 2024 (online course), she participated in various collaboration challenge like “junk journal January”, “junk journal July” and she has her own challenge every year in November.
