Whetheryou attain liberation is up to you.
—,LordBuddha
Fromthe beginningless beginning, the essence of nondualistic wisdom mind is pureand stainless like a mirror. All measureless phenomena can arise through thisunobstructed, mirrorlike quality without causing division between subject andobject. Without division between subject and object, there is no grasping orclinging and there are no temporary circumstances, so all manifestation iswisdom display.
Fromthe beginningless beginning, the essence of all sentient beings' minds is thesame as the Buddha's nondualistic wisdom mind, pure and stainless like amirror. But we ordinary sentient beings do not recognize this pure andstainless wisdom mind because we divide its reflections into subject andobject. By grasping and clinging to subject and object, we prevent ourselvesfrom recognizing the continuous display of wisdom. Actually, since mind'sessence is pure, obscurations do not exist. But through our misinterpretationof all phenomena as real and tangible, they become temporary obscurations whichtrap us.
AsOmniscient Great Profound Supreme Expanse, Kunkhyen Longchen Rabjam, said:Self-arisingawareness, the absolute sun,
Isobscured by both white and black clouds of virtue and nonvirtue.
Theeffort of attachment to acceptance and rejection is a turbulent lightning storm.
Therainfall of delusion's happiness and suffering continuously descends,
Samsara'sseed produces the abundantly growing crops of the six realms.
Alas! All tormented sentient beings are pitiful.
Accordingto the Buddhist point of view, intangible mind exists from the beginninglessbeginning. This does not mean from the beginning of ego in just one life, butmeans that it exists continuously, as the basis of all phenomena, until wisdommind is realized and full enlightenment is reached. But through ourmisinterpretation, we cause habits which produce different realms of phenomena. The hell realm is created predominantly through the habit of hatred, the hungryghost realm is created predominantly through the habit of greed, the animalrealm is created predominantly through the habit of ignorance, the jealous godrealm is created predominantly through the habit of jealousy, the god realm iscreated predominantly through the habit of pride, and the human realm iscreated predominantly through the habit of desire.
Amonghuman beings, the nihilist view is created predominantly from the pessimistichabit of believing in nothing beyond the tangible qualities of what isexperienced through this life's ego. The eternalist view is createdpredominantly from the optimistic habit of believing in a supreme, eternal god.The Buddhist view goes beyond both nihilism and eternalism.
Buddhistsbelieve that all phenomena originate from, and are inseparable from, greatemptiness. Great emptiness means the limitless, stainless, unobscured, spaciousorigin of all wisdom qualities. Great stainless emptiness wisdom mind containsand creates all wisdom appearances and qualities through great space. The threeaspects of Buddha's qualities of wisdom body, speech, and mind are the pureappearance of wisdom mind's display.
Buddha'swisdom body is inconceivably secret. It can never be defined because it has nolimitation. It reflects any form unobstructedly in infinite aspects, soordinary beings cannot find an end to its appearances. Since the source isinconceivable, the aspects are inexhaustible.
Buddha'swisdom speech is inconceivably secret. It can never be judged because itsquality is so profound. It reflects any sound unobstructedly in...
