Peter Brooke-Ball was born in India and educated at Wellinglon College and Exeter University. He left his career with British publisher Marshall Cavendish in 1986 to become a full-time writer. Derek O'Dell has been involved in boxing since he first entered the ring as a young schoolboy fighter. He began reporting boxing in Australia and continued his career as a boxing journalist when he retumed to Britain. O. F. Snelling has been writing about boxing for over fifty years. Shortly after the Second World War he entered the book trade, in which he stayed for thirty-two years.
