This atlas is primarily devoted to clinical matters with illustrations and case reports depicting varied diabetic foot problems. It has been divided into eight sections and 30 chapters with 53 case studies and over 600 clinical photographs.
Over 120 million people worldwide suffer from diabetes and 85 percent of diabetes-related amputations are preceded by foot ulcer. Understanding the causes of this catastrophe, identifying the sufferers and those at high risk and developing effective preventive strategies and remedies for its consequences has become a major preoccupation with diabetologists in recent years. Diabetic Foot: A Clinical Atlas is primarily devoted to clinical matters with illustrations and case reports depicting varied diabetic foot problems. Divided into eight sections, the book contains 53 case studies and over 600 clinical photographs, as well as a detailed bibliography for further reading.

Sharad Pendsey is a consultant in diabetology and the Director of Diabetes Clinic and Research Centre, Dhantoli, Nagpur, India. He has several orginal publications to his credit and is the author of the book Practical Management of Diabetes. He has been a recipient of many national and international awards, such as the "International Amputation Prevention Award" and "Vuk Vrhovac Award" for his work on leprosy foot. He was the nation president of Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) and is a member of the international working group on the diabetic foot. He has been a regualr faculty at national and international scientific meetings. he has contributed chapters on the Diabetic Foot in the Textbook of Medicine published by API and Textbook of Diabetes published by RSSDI. He is the managing trustee of 'DREAM Trust', a registered charity with two main objectives of prevention of the diabetic foot and providing free insulin to poor diabetic children.
