This book covers all the gynecological areas where nurses undertake a key role in managing and leading the care of women. With the constant evolving role of nurses, many of them have been at the forefront of changing practice and breaking through boundaries in areas traditionally carried on by medics. This volume guides those nurses in enhancing their role and moving the practice forward.
Paramount within this care is the desire to ensure that women are treated by the right person with the right skills and with dignity to manage intimate and personal issues that have a great effect on quality of life.
This book offers best practice guidelines and references to underpin practice and practical tips and hints. It examines many aspects of women's health, from menstrual dysfunction and bleeding, specific adolescent issues, fertility and infertilty, to early pregnancy problems, management of pregnancy's termination, urogynecological issues, ambulatory and outpatient procedures and menopause.

This volume provides readers with a guide to care for women from the nurse specialist expertise. Many different subspecialties exist in gynecology, and nurses have to take the lead in caring for women, especially for those looked after within the outpatient setting.
In addition to the nursing management of these women, some nurses undertake procedures as hysteroscopy and move the care of these women from surgery to an ambulatory setting. This work is written by and dedicated to specialist and practitioners nurses.

Debra Holloway is a Nurse Consultant in gynaecology at Guys and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London. Her current clinical caseload is one-stop outpatient procedure clinics, mainly outpatient hysteroscopy. The clinic that she runs sees women who have bleeding problems, problems with IUS, cervical polyps and Post Menopausal bleeding.  She has trained both nursing and medical staff in outpatient hysteroscopy and manages a team of nurses within one stop clinics as well as the other Clinical Nurse specialists within the gynaecology department.
Her other clinics include menopause, for which she is an accredited spacialist with the BMS; the clinic is jointly run with Professor Rymer and Dr. Bruce, which includes clinics for women with natural menopause, early menopause and menopause after cancer. She regularly speaks to women with breast cancer on a moving forward course in relation to menopause. In addition she has a joint clinic in the haemophilia centre for women with bleeding disorders and gynaecology problems such as Von Willibrands disease. This is run in conjunction with a consultant haematologist.
Debby is the deputy module lead for the  gynaecology nursing course at KCL, for which she organises this, teaches and marks the assignments. She has also published both books and articles in relation to women's health.
Her background is in gynaecology nursing, where she has held a number of posts from staff nurse to Clinical Nurse Manager, before returning to this clinical role.
Debby is currently the chair of the RCN women's health forum and through this has had many publications and conferences.
In 2016 Debby received an honorary fellowship to the RCOG, the first nurse to receive this and in 2017 received a fellowship of the RCN.
