Dr Yuki Tanaka received the Bachelor of Engineering from Tokai University, Japan in 2005, and the Master of Engineering from Tokai University, Japan, in 2007. She acquired Ph.D. in 2011 at Tokyo Medical and Dental University Graduate School. She has studied piano under Toshie NAKASHIMA (Pianist) since the age of 4 years old since 1985. She participated the following piano contests: the student music competition of Japan, the Hupfer peace memory Tosu piano competition, Oita eisteddfod piano section, the youth section of the Takahiro Sonoda Prize international piano competition, and so on. In recent years, she received the prize for encouragement in An die Musik Piano contest in 2009. She has been a part-time lecturer at College of Bioresource Sciences, Nihon University from 2011, and at School of Medicine, Nihon University from 2013. Her current research interest is a systematic view giving a scientific knowledge of human reaction to music, which enables a concrete guide for composing better music to dementia patients. For her excellent study and research performance, she received the Nobuko Matsumae prize for the encouragement of the Shigeyoshi Matsumae memorial fund from educational foundation Tokai University in 2005.
