At Stanford University, he was the Director of the Stanford Health Promotion Network and a Health Promotion Manager at the Stanford Prevention Research Center.As the Chief Medical Officer for a U.S. corporation, he created and implemented a public health program for 10,000 villagers in the Kutubu area of Papua New Guinea. He led or participated in public health missions to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Montrouis (Haiti), Luanda (Angola), Casamance (Senegal), Ouesso (Republic of Congo), Port Harcourt (Nigeria), Lifou (New Caledonia) and the Yunnan province of China.
