The Aphasia Screening Test (AST) is a comprehensive, sensitive and reliable screening test of language deficit in adult brain-damaged patients. Aimed at the severe to moderately impaired patient, it yields quantitative as well as qualitative information providing a profile on which to base treatment. Re-testing provides an objective measure of changes in language function. AST is easy to use and interpret and the materials are attractively presented and highly portable.
