Kim Pickett, COMT Kim Pickett is a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist. After attending Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota, she studied ophthalmic technology at St. Paul Ramsey School for Ophthalmic Technology in St. Paul. Kim graduated from the technology program in 1987, and was hired as a technologist by Park Nicollet Clinic in St. Louis Park, Minn. Throughout her years at Park Nicollet Clinic, Kim has been involved in direct patient care as well as in the training of other technical staff members. Kim was instrumental in setting up a triage system for the eye department. She also serves on a quality improvement committee that organizes in services and skill reviews for the eye department staff. Kim also works part-time for JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology) reviewing continuing education courses for credit approval. Kim has served as a skill evaluator for many years with both the technician skills test and the technologist level performance test. She has instructed several workshops at local national continuing education programs.
