Dr Darren Hague started as an IT consultant at the age of 16, spending Saturdays and Wednesday afternoons introducing computers to a local building services firm. At Brunel University, he gained B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science while working part-time for a computing multinational, a conference producer, and a CAD software house. Afterwards, he briefly pursued an academic career working with brain scanners.Since 1998 Darren has been back in the world of business and on joining Axon Solutions in 2000 he developed a continuing interest in SAP, Java, and user-oriented business processes. With experience of the SAP NetWeaver Portal going back to EP 4.5, he became responsible for the Enterprise Portals capability at Axon in 2001 and set up the Yahoo "SAP Portals Admins" mailing list, a community of early adopters who helped each other with Portal installation and implementation issues. That group is now defunct, but in its place Darren is an active contributor to the SAP Community Network, presenting SDN sessions at SAP TechEd, helping to organize SAP Community events in London, and writing sporadic blog entries at www.fortybeans.com.Darren is currently investigating the use of enterprise SOA techniques to make business processes available to the widest possible audience using the most appropriate technologies. He lives in Surrey, England with his wife and a very demanding cat.
