Dr. Puja Khare works as a Principal Scientist in the Plant Production and Protection Division at CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow, India. She obtained her PhD from Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI), Agra, India. She has more than 25 years of research and development activity, and has published more than 100 peer reviewed publications. She serves as a member of various national and international scientific bodies. Dr. Khare’s research interests include nano-formulation for agricultural purposes, fabrication of green nanomaterials from industrial waste, application of biochar on problematic soils, abiotic stress and medicinal plants, and environmental chemistry. Dr. Disha Mishra is a Senior Researcher at the CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. She received her PhD from CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow. Her research interests include the development of nano-bioformulations, nano-biocomposite preparation, smart delivery through nanomaterials, biochar production and its application for the remediation of pollutants from soil, soil chemistry, and solid waste management. Dr. Mishra has published several book chapters and research articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has also presented papers at international and national conferences. Muhammad Bilal is working as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Gdansk University of Technology, Poland. Previously, he served as an assistant/associate Professor at Poznan University of Technology, Poland, and the School of Life Science and Food Engineering, Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Huaian, China. He earned his Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, specializing in bioengineering and applied biotechnology. His main research activities are oriented to Environmental biotechnology, nanotechnology, enzyme engineering, immobilization, chemical modifications, and industrial applications of microbial enzymes, liquid, and solid waste management. He has authored over 700 peer-reviewed articles, 150 book chapters, 25 edited books. Dr. Bilal is the associate editor of Frontiers in Chemical Engineering and Frontiers in Environmental Science (Frontiers), and an editorial board member for several journals. He was listed as a highly cited researcher (Clarivate) in 2021 and holds several "highly cited papers" in WOS. Mika Sillanpää’s research work centers on chemical treatment in environmental engineering and environmental monitoring and analysis. The recent research focus has been on the resource recovery from waste streams. Sillanpää received his M.Sc. (Eng.) and D.Sc. (Eng.) degrees from the Aalto University where he also completed an MBA degree in 2013. Since 2000, he has been a full professor/adjunct professor at the University of Oulu, the University of Eastern Finland, the LUT University, the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Johannesburg.
