This work, a major contribution to the field, is divided into four volumes, presents English translations of newspaper articles about the Sikhs that the colonial administration in British India published in weekly press reports for Punjab between 1864 and 1924.

The volumes provide unique source material for studies and research on the Sikhs in colonial India by presenting press material from over 300 indigenous newspapers in colonial Punjab.

This is volume 1 of a 4-volume set.

Kristina Myrvold, Ph.D. (2007) and Associate Professor (2015), is a Visiting Professor of Asian Religions at Lund University. She is the author and editor of numerous academic publications on Sikh religion, history, and colonial Punjab. Myrvold is one of the editors for Brill’s Encyclopedia of Sikhism.
