Spirituality in Clinical Practice includes perspectives not found in other texts such as a developmental perspective integrating moral and spiritual development, the interface of spiritual development with personality functioning, and insights from object relations, self psychology and transpersonal psychotherapy as they relate to various spiritual traditions and contemporary spiritual practices. This brief, reader-friendly text is written in a highly accessible style and is destined to set a precedent for excellence in the emerging field of spirituality in clinical practice or psychotherapy and counseling.

Len Sperry, M.D., Ph.D., is currently Professor and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Counseling at Florida Atlantic University as well as Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has practiced psychotherapy sensitive to the spiritual dimension for over 20 years. Board certified in Psychiatry, Preventive Medicine, and Clinical Psychology, he is a fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association, the American College of Psychiatrists and the American Psychological Association; and is a fellow of the Division of Psychology and Religion of the APA, and a member of the Committee on Psychiatry and Religion of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP).
