Kazem Vafadari-Mehrizi PhD is a Professor in the College of Sustainability and Tourism, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu, Japan. He teaches courses in community-based tourism, research methods, and rural development. An expert on tourism development in Asia, and on agricultural heritage landscapes and rural development, he also worked with the UNFAO as an advisor and scientific committee member on the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) program. He has published widely on geotourism, globally important agricultural heritage systems in rural revitalization, and on sustainable development.Yukio Yotsumoto PhD is a Professor in the College of Sustainability and Tourism at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan. He received a bachelor's degree in economics (Soka University, Japan), a master's degree in agricultural extension education (The University of Georgia, USA), and a Ph.D. in sociology (The University of Kentucky, USA). He actively researches rural development and small island tourism.
