Baimba Yilla, Ed.D., has over two decades of experience as a Foreign Service Officer with the US Department of State. In this role, he provides expertise in diplomacy, international relations, and national security to advance US foreign policy around the world, including in his previous postings in countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and at the United Nations in New York. Baimba is also an Adjunct Professor at Marymount University. He serves as a Lead Doctoral Faculty Mentor supporting doctoral candidates as they complete their Dissertation in Practice for the Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Organizational Innovation. Baimba is passionate about educational leadership and what it can do to help us address our socio-economic, political, and environmental challenges, as well as shape the lives of individuals and the course of a nation's history. This passion is what underpins Baimba's research interests. He has and continues to explore education and its impact on public policy for lasting social transformation through the lens of history, institutions, politics, human behavior, ethnicity and global leadership. Baimba is married with children.
