The book is a comprehensive guide to industrial laser processes, offering insights into their fundamentals, applications across industries, production specifics, and characteristics, including mechanical, metallurgical, and geometrical aspects, as well as potential defects.
The Laser Manufacturing Process is a comprehensive guide to industrial laser processes, offering insights into their fundamentals, applications across industries, production specifics, and characteristics, including mechanical, metallurgical, and geometrical aspects, as well as potential defects.

The book also investigates how industrial laser processes are developed and the diverse attributes of the resulting objects, emphasizing their significance in industrial settings. Here, “objects” refer to the tangible outcomes of laser manufacturing, encompassing a wide array of products and components created through processes like cutting, welding, and additive manufacturing. These objects exhibit distinct mechanical properties, metallurgical characteristics, and geometrical precision, all of which are crucial considerations in their utility and performance within industrial environments.

This book functions as a concise reference manual catering to the needs of both students and professionals who require knowledge related to laser manufacturing processes, such as laser cutting, laser welding, and laser additive manufacturing processes.

Professor Anooshirvan Farshidianfar is a distinguished figure in mechanical engineering, with a notable academic and industry career. Having earned his PhD from Bradford University in 2010, specializing in mechanical engineering, he attained the position of full professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2023. Currently, he focuses his groundbreaking research in additive manufacturing at esteemed universities in Canada and the USA. In 2000, Professor Farshidianfar co-founded Taha Ghaleb Toos (TGT) Co., assuming the role of CEO and steering the company to prominence in the industry. His impactful research, marked by 150 published journal articles, has significantly advanced additive manufacturing knowledge. Recognized as a leading figure in the field, his contributions to academia and industry shape the discipline. Committed to mentoring the next generation, Professor Farshidianfar ensures a bright future for mechanical engineering, solidifying his position as a respected and innovative figure in the field. Seyedeh Fatemeh Nabavi is a graduate student in the Advanced Composite Structures Engineering Laboratory (ACSEL) at Purdue University. Having obtained her master's degree in mechanical engineering in 2017, she distinguished herself by earning the prestigious Best Thesis Award for her outstanding research work. Seyedeh Fatemeh has demonstrated her innovation and expertise through the acquisition of national and international patents, with additional applications currently pending. Presently, her research focus at Purdue University revolves around the modeling of characteristics in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) process. Dr. Mohammad Hossein Farshidianfar earned his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering - Construction and Production from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2017. Following that, he successfully completed a post-doctoral research course in 2018 at the University of Toronto, specializing in laser manufacturing. His expertise extends to serving as a senior laser engineer at Liberdy Company.
