This monograph presents the original scientific manuscripts submitted for publication at the International Conference  - The Science and Development of Transport (ZIRP 2021), organized by the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Zagreb, Croatia. The Conference takes place in Šibenik, Croatia, from 30th September until 1st October 2021, aiming to bring together the scientists and the practitioners by putting forward innovative solutions available to everyone. This monograph presents the newest scientific research, case studies, and best practices in the field of transport and logistics. In addition to the main topics, many relevant manuscripts in the field of transport and logistics have been presented, such as sustainable urban mobility and logistics, safety and policy, data science, process automation, inventory forecasting, improving competitiveness in the transport and logistics services market and raising customer satisfaction. The monograph will be of interest for the experienced researchers, professionals as well as Ph.D. students in the field of transport and logistics

 



Marjana Petrovic is working at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Department of Railway Transport as an assistant professor and Head of Chair of Railway Transport Technology. She teaches courses in the area of transport simulation and modeling, planning, and organizing of rail passenger transport and railway operations. In 2013, she defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled 'Intermodal Passenger Terminals Location Planning in Urban Rail Transit.' As a researcher, she participated in projects funded by the EU, national research projects, and professional projects. She published more than 30 papers in international journals and conferences, chapters in scientific books. She is fluent in English.

Luka Novacko is a traffic engineer with 14 years of experience in the field of road traffic planning and design of road traffic infrastructure. He was involved in more than 15 projects and some of them were financed by EU funds. His Ph.D. thesis was focused on the estimation of OD matrices in the cities. He is Head of Department for Road Transport and Head of Laboratory for planning and modeling in the road and urban traffic at Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He published more than 40 papers in international journals and conferences, chapters in scientific books. He is fluent in English.

Diana Božic is working at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Department of Transportation Logistic as an assistant professor. She teaches courses in the area of logistics simulation, inventory management, and quality management. In 2013, she defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled 'Model of resource design within logistic distribution centers.' As a researcher, she participated in projects funded by the EU, national research projects, and professional projects. She published more than 33 papers in international journals and conferences, chapters in scientific books. She is fluent in English and familiar with German. Tomislav Rožic is a traffic engineer with 13 years of experience in the field of logistics. He is working at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Department of Transportation Logistics as an assistant professor. He was involved in more than 10 international and domestics projects. His Ph.D. thesis was focused on the container storage optimization on inland terminals. He published more than 30 papers in international journals and conferences, chapters in scientific books. He is fluent in English.
