Today there are 77 million Baby Boomers living in the U.S., meaning 10,000 people will be turning 65 years old every day. Currently, most Boomers aren’t in assisted living or memory care… yet. However, they will be moving into senior housing in droves over the next couple of decades.
With limited resources available at this time, planning for assisted living can be overwhelming for those who are making difficult choices for their loved ones (or themselves). These choices have only been complicated and made more urgent by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Contrary to popular belief, retirement homes are not the only option for our population’s aging members anymore. Adult Family Homes—designed to allow senior citizens to live mostly independently with access to a variety of amenities—provide an alternative for individuals or couples who can no longer safely live on their own but don’t want to relegate themselves to assisted living facilities.
Investment in this innovative category of senior living is a relatively new opportunity that many are not aware of. This book will give you the tools to decide if this could be the right fit for you and your family.
You will learn:
What is happening in the senior care industry today, and what the options are
How smaller senior care homes are becoming ever-popular in the wave of COVID-19
How to invest in a senior care home
How to convert your home or property into a senior care home
How to protect the wealth of your family and honor Mom and Dad
Designed as a practical guide through the complex world of senior living, you’ll find advice and guidance to help you make decisions that honor the elderly, protect family resources, and provide a lucrative investment opportunity.
Having literally “grown up” in the Adult Family Home business, Christian brings over 20 years of experience and innovation to this model of elder care. The systems, processes, training and attention to personal needs and requirements of residents under his care are truly “game changers” in the senior care sector. These are what have propelled the growth of his consortium of 16 homes, and counting, in the Seattle Metro area. Chris’ enthusiasm for bringing this alternative to the traditional institutional model of assisted living to a wider market is the driving force behind this book. Stephen Morris MD, MPH received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and his Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Stephen started his professional career in education, ecology, and international development before moving onto medicine, always with the intention of combining it with public health. His clinical specialty is Emergency Medicine and holds the position of Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Health at the University of Washington’s Schools of Medicine and Public Health respectively. His academic specialties include global health, health systems development and disaster medicine. He lives in Seattle, WA with his family. Michael has been teamed with Christian over the past 5 years in building the marketing and financial cornerstones of the Adult Family Home business. He brings his experience in both the ministry and real estate development worlds to this arena. Michael is intent upon educating and working alongside those families who carry a keen sense of the importance of being good stewards with family resources over multiple generations while providing the best possible care for loved ones.
