Part 1 Scenarios and related tasks: an ongoing scenario of a management trainee joining a large group of diverse companies (the accounting problems he encounters form the tasks and assignments). Part 2 Student information bank: the basics of cost and management accounting; materials and labour; overheads; costing methods; job, batch and contract costing; costing methods - service, process and joint-product costing; planning, control and cost behaviour; budgeting; cash budgeting; standard costing; decision-making and marginal costing; break-even analysis; investment appraisal. Section 3 Developing knowledge and skills: assignments and examination questions develop the skills of the student.
