Innovation and quality are two misconceived terms in business. Typically overused, they fill the void that leaders have in understanding the needs of their organizations. Both innovation and quality are fragile in that they are sporadic and unpredictable, even in the best companies. However, the research provided in this book will prove that there is a complimentary relationship between innovation and quality. From successful fortune 500 companiesand big government to small but successful entrepreneurial ventures, and non-profits, this book examines innovation through a number of different lenses.

David R. Arvonio, MBA, MPA, LSSMBB For over 15 years, David has served in both military and civilian roles in government and in the private sector. Serving in various roles as a financial manager, resource manager, and program manager, he has spent the last three years as the Director for Strategic Planning and Process Improvement. He has logged over 2,000 hours in the classroom instructing Lean Six Sigma, project management, and numerous tenets of leadership for the Department of Defense, UCLA, and Dale Carnegie Training. David is also an advisor and coach on performance improvement and a commissioned officer in the Air Force Reserve. He mentors small business entrepreneurs through a small business administration affiliated non-profit organization called SCORE. David also owns and operates a small consulting firm dedicated to helping small businesses succeed through big business principles. Innovate & Produce Consulting Group has a proven track record of success with multiple businesses throughout Los Angeles County. As a champion for change within his organization, David guides and develops employees at all levels. With experience on some of the most challenging projects to improve the Aerospace industry, David brings years of problem solving, organizational development, and strategic planning experience to any classroom. He continues to work with leaders across the Air Force and within industry to redefine space acquisitions into a model equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century. As one of six individuals chosen from across the Air Force to become a Master Black Belt, David is well-respected and sought after in the performance improvement field.
