The Clinical Companion of the Donkey is a revised version of The Professional Handbook of the Donkey, produced as an easy reference book for clinicians and other professionals to inform and educate, and improve the health and welfare of donkeys worldwide.
In an easy-to-read and easy-to-navigate format over its 360 pages, this updated paperback includes current and extra information in a bid to improve the health and welfare of donkeys worldwide by sharing knowledge and providing further education.
Without covering the same ground as other excellent textbooks, Clinical Companion of the Donkey concentrates on those differences in the equine species that are specific to the donkey. A new chapter on donkey behaviour has been included, as this is fundamental to understanding this unique animal and the presentation of clinical signs and requirements for handling, nursing and treatment.
»Clinical Companion of the Donkey« contributors are all employed by or are associated with The Donkey Sanctuary. The content of the textbook is evidence-based or the shared experience of past and present employees representing a vast pool of expertise and knowledge in donkey health and welfare.
One of The Donkey Sanctuary’s strategic aims is to share our knowledge and improve the support networks for professionals engaged in donkey care. To deliver this aim we need to monitor access to The Clinical Companion of the Donkey and to understand what practices/organisations/professionals are engaged with our work. For this reason we will collect and store your contact details for the purposes of monitoring use, providing updates related to the The Clinical Companion of the Donkey and sharing new donkey focussed materials relevant to training and professional development. In agreeing to our terms, we will use the information you provide to:
