An examination of the path to attaining spiritual knowledge, called the 'reverse ritual' in anthroposophy.
When we think of rites and rituals we usually think of something that has to do with a church. There are various rituals, however, in which we are all involved -- for example, birth and death.
There is also another ritual available to all: the path of attaining spiritual knowledge, which has been called the 'reverse ritual' in anthroposophy. As Steiner describes it this ritual of knowledge is formed by 'the free spiritual activity of the human being in awareness of the Divine as a spirit.'

Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) is widely known as the founder of Waldorf schools, and for his innovative ideas on children's mental, physical and emotional development. However his achievements also encompassed the application of his philosophy to a number of fields, including religion, science, education, art, culture and esotericism. Friedrich Benesch (1907-91) was born in a German-speaking part of Romania, and carned doctorates in biology, theology, and anthropology. In 1944, in the face of Russian invasion, he led an entire village as refugees to Germany. Benesch was later ordained in the Christian Community, and became leader of its seminary in Stuttgart in 1957.
