This book is a manual for the clinical and morphological diagnosis of swine diseases. In the majority of the chapters, the conditions are arranged according to the organic systems that facilitate the diagnostic conclusions. Altogether 522 color photographs of clinical signs and morphological alterations are presented after the short definitions of the disease. Many figures are contributed by 30 Slovenian and foreign scientists, as well as by the institutions. A speciality of the book is that several conditions are illustrated in a pathogenetic order, from the initial through the florid, to the residual alterations. There are also some special chapters, e.g. abnormal behavior, poor conformation of the legs and the degenerative osteoarthropathies, which are especially relevant to the welfare of pigs.
