The second volume continues the series of Piglet Nutrition Notes by providing even more practical information regarding commercial piglet formulas, feeding practices, feed manufacturing, and additives.
Each chapter is based on combined research and empirical evidence distilled through the commercial experiences of Dr. Mavromichalis through his international consulting practice.
Ioannis Mavromichalis holds degrees from MSc (Kansas State University, swine nutrition) and PhD (University of Illinois, monogastric nutrition). He is a worldwide active expert in the area of applied animal nutrition. Since 2008, he owns the consulting firm Ariston Nutrition. He consults with major pig, poultry, dairy, feed, and additives producers in Americas, Europe, and Asia. He is often consulted by major firms about the global feed and additives market, and he is frequently invited as an external reviewer for scientific, business, technical, and marketing projects. Dr. Mavromichalis has been a prolific author since 1988. He writes monthly articles for many technical magazines and maintains a weekly blog where he expresses his opinions on timely issues. He is also an outside reviewer for the Journal of Animal Science (USA). In 2006, he published his first book "Applied Nutrition for Young Pigs". In 2017, he published the first book of a new series titled "Piglet Nutrition Notes, and this is the second volume in the same series, with the next scheduled for 2020 and then every even year . A similar bi-annual book series titled "Poultry Nutrition Notes" will first appear in 2019, and again every other odd year.
