This series, published in conjunction with the British Veterinary Association, was extremely well received when the inaugural volumes were published. The series consists of concise, inexpensive paperback handbooks, illustrated in full colour and covering a selection of topics of particular interest to the practitioner. The articles were previously published in "In Practice", they have never before been collected and published on a species basis. The first three volumes covered equine, canine and feline practice; these were followed by three on bovine, sheep and goat, and swine practice. The success of the canine and feline volumes prompted the editor to make a new selection, namely all the papers covering the cat and the dog together, which had to be excluded from the earlier volumes. Topics covered include behavioural problems in dogs and cats, four chapters on acute trauma and an article on fracture fixation.
Acute Trauma in Small Animals: Initial Assessment and Management. Acute Trauma in Small Animals 2: Thoracic Injuries. Acute Trauma in Small Animals 3: Orthopaedic Injuries. Free Skin Grafting in Small Animals. Fracture Fixation in Small Animal Practice. External Support for Small Animals. Update: Chemical Restraint for Radiography in Dogs and Cats. Diagnostic Ultrasound in Small Animals. Blood Sampling in the Dog and Cat. Bone Marrow Aspiration and Biopsy in Dogs and Cats. Thoracentesis in the Dog and Cat. A Clinical Approach to the Management of Skin Tumours in the Dog and Cat. Oral Tumours in Dogs and Cats. Hormonal Alopecia in Dogs and Cats. Diabetes Mellitus. Clinical Use of Neuromuscular Blocking Agents in Dogs and Cats. Behavioural Problems in Dogs and Cats.
