The proceedings of SciFi97: Workshop on Scintillating Fiber Detectors is the third conference in a series in which prior meetings were held at Fermilab (SciFi88) and Notre Dame (SciFi93). The purpose of these meetings is to provide a forum for scientists and engineers who have an interest in detector development using scintillator and fiber techniques for particle detection, tracking, and calorimetry. State-of-the-art applications to particle physics, space physics, medical physics, and recent developments and innovations in photosensor technologies are presented by researchers directly involved in the detector development, construction, and operation.
