This book delves into the underexplored realm of daylight comfort in industrial structures, providing real measured data and insights supported by advanced simulations using the RADIANCE program. It highlights the vital role of daylight in human well-being and sustainable building design, offering a comprehensive analysis of how daylighting strategies and green technologies can reduce carbon footprints. With a focus on practical applications, the book guides designers in using simulation tools to predict and enhance indoor daylight environments, ensuring comfort and efficiency from design to completion.
Erika Dolníková is an associate professor at the Department of Building Construction, Technical University of Kosice. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Kosice in 1998. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2002 on the topic of the Influence of Upper Lighting Systems on Daylight Comfort in Industrial Halls. Currently, he works as a university lecturer. In the scope of his scientific activities, he focuses on solving tasks in VEGA and KEGA projects. His main research areas and educational activities include: building physics, daylighting, acoustics, building thermal engineering, modeling, and simulations. He is the author and co-author of scientific and professional articles published by domestic and international publishers. He is a member of the Slovak Technical Control in the field of daylighting.
