Concept for a mobile application that combines the formal structure and the assistance of a semi-automatic meeting scheduler with the informal communication channel of instant messaging applications.
A concept for a mobile application that combines the formal structure and the assistance of a semi-automatic meeting scheduler with the informal communication channel of instant messaging applications gets presented. Users get assisted during the creation and scheduling process of group meetings but still maintain control over their personal schedule. Available times of a user for a meeting automatically get calculated based on the user’s
calendar entries, but can always be altered. The application uses voting mechanisms and a negotiation and challenging process in order to determine the time of a meeting. The negotiation process, which is based on social choice functions, is used in order to find the collectively most preferred time for a meeting, but users can change individual negotiation outcomes to their favor via handing over reward points to the other users. Importance roles further ensure that hierarchies in groups get taken into account. Users with a high importance role influence the outcome of the meeting scheduling process more to their favor.
