This scientific monograph presents the results obtained during research in the field of chipless logging and consists of two parts. At the beginning of the book, the current state of the researched task in chipless logging using chipless logging heads is presented. The experimental measurement methodology will be determined after reviewing the theoretical analysis of the cutting heads. The measurement methodology describes the principle of research carried out on an experimental hydraulic stand based on defined parameters. Data obtained during experimental measurement can be analyzed in many areas, e.g. statistical influence of individual factors as well as their combinations. The energy demand of chipless knives is also determined during experimental measurement.

Assoc. prof. Ing. Ján Kovác, PhD., is a docent at the Department of Environmental and Forestry Technology, Faculty of Environmental and Production Technology, Technical University in Zvolen (Slovak Republic). He graduated from the Forestry and Mobile Technology study program with a specialization in Mechanical Machinery and Equipment at the Faculty of Environmental and Production Technology of the Technical University in Zvolen (Slovak Republic). His pedagogic and scientific activity is focused on the cross-sectional process of wood cutting and branching, the basics of forestry technologies, forest logging machines and chain saws, transport mechanisms. He is the co-author of a scientific monograph entitled: Ergonomic operational working aspects of forest machines in Cambridge Scholars Publishing. Author and co-author of scientific publications and national patents and utility models in the field of chip and chipless wood processing. He is the co-author of the woodworking laboratory located at the department.

Murgas Secondary Industrial School in Banská Bystrica in 2009, graduated from the Faculty of Technology of the Technical University of Zvolen in 2015. He completed his doctoral thesis on the topic "Research of cutting mechanisms of chainsaws" in 2018. In the pedagogical and scientific the research area is devoted to the problems is focused around transverse cutting with a saw chain and the construction of chainsaws.

Ing. Ján Melichercík, PhD., is a scientific researcher at the Department of Environmental and Forestry Technology, Faculty of Technology at the Technical University in Zvolen (the Slovak Republic). He graduated from the Ecotechnics study program at the Faculty of Environmental and Manufacturing Technology at the Technical University in Zvolen (the Slovak Republic). Doctoral study on the topic Research of selected factors for the process of branching wood with specialization in harvester technology and branching heads was completed in the study program Mechanical Engineering - Production Technology, at the Faculty of Technology, Technical University in Zvolen. (Slovak republic).

His scientific research activity is focused on the field of wood processing in forestry, ways of dividing wood, branching of wood, cutting tools and mechanisms.
