In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of single and multi hop architectures are described in terms of performance output and there is a strong section on sensor networks, exploring issues of deployment, application and cross-layer optimization. The authors draw on their own extensive experience in the field to suggest numerous techniques for improved performance and their vision of the future of this technology.
