THE SERIES: FRONTIERS IN COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
The series Frontiers In Computational Intelligence is envisioned to provide comprehensive coverage and understanding of cutting edge research in computational intelligence. It intends to augment the scholarly discourse on all topics relating to the advances in artifi cial life and machine learning in the form of metaheuristics, approximate reasoning, and robotics. Latest research findings are coupled with applications to varied domains of engineering and computer sciences. This field is steadily growing especially with the advent of novel machine learning algorithms being applied to different domains of engineering and technology. The series brings together leading researchers that intend to continue to advance the field and create a broad knowledge about the most recent research.

About the Editors
Dr. Pancham Shukla holds PhD in electrical and electronic engineering from Imperial College London, MPhil in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK), ME in electronic and computer engineering and BE in electronic engineering from Sardar Patel University (India). Dr. Pancham Shukla is a principal teaching fellow in the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. Dr. Shukla previously worked as a senior lecturer in the School of Computing and Digital Media at London Metropolitan University; as a research fellow in Applied Digital Signal and
Image Processing Research Centre (ADSIP) at the University of Central Lancashire; and as a research associate in Communications and Signal Processing (CSP) group at Imperial College London. Dr. Shukla holds more than 25 years of teaching and research experience in various universities in the UK and India.
Dr. Pancham Shukla has supervised a broad range of projects and published papers in signal/image processing, and electronic and communications systems. He has organized conferences and has served as a technical session chair along with reviewing many international conference and journal papers. Dr. Shukla was a deputy director of the Centre for Communications Technology, vice chair of the Research Student Progress Group and PhD Degrees in the School of Computing and Digital Media at London Metropolitan University.
Dr. Shukla received Vice Chancellor’s award for his outstanding contribution to learning and teaching as well as Student Union’s award as an outstanding member of academic staff while working at London Metropolitan University.
Dr. Rajanikanth Aluvalu is working as Professor, Department of IT, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, India. He worked as professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vardhaman College of Engineering, Hyderabad, India; vice-chair, entrepreneurship and startup committee, past treasurer and secretary at IEEE Computer Society, Hyderabad Section. He is senior IEEE member, life member of ISTE and member of MIR Labs, USA. He is having more than 17 years of teaching experience. He obtained his PhD in cloud computing as specialization. He is the academic editor for Peerj Computer Science journal. He has published more than 90 Research articles in various peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is the editor for The Fusion of Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Computing in Health Care book published by Springer. He is serving as an academic editor for Peerj Computer Science journal, editor for IJDMMM journal published by Inderscience Publisher and reviewer for many Scopus-indexed and SCI journals.
He is recipient of IUCEE Faculty Fellow award in the year 2018 and Best Advisor from IEEE Hyderabad Section in the year 2020.
Dr. Shilpa Gite received PhD for deep learning for assistive driving in semiautonomous vehicles from Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India, in 2019. Currently, she is working as an associate professor at the Computer Science Department of Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune. She is also working as an associate faculty at Symbiosis Centre of Applied A.I. (SCAAI). She has around 13 years of teaching experience. Her research areas include deep learning, machine learning, medical imaging and computer vision. She is currently guiding six PhD students in biomedical imaging, self-driving cars and natural language processing areas. She is also the recipient of Best Paper award at 11th IEMERA Conference held virtually at Imperial College, London, in October 2020. She has published more than 50 research articles in various peer-reviewed journals with Scopus and Web of Science indexed and many international conferences. She is also working as a reviewer for many Scopus-indexed and SCI journals.
Dr. Uma Maheswari V is working as Associate Professor and Head, Department of CSE, KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, India. She worked earlier in Vardhaman College of Engineering, Hyderabad, India. She is volunteering as treasurer at IEEE-RAS, Hyderabad Section. She completed her PhD from Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum, in the area of image analytics and data science. She has published 20+ research articles in SCI, ESCI, WoS, DBLP, and SCOPUS-indexed journals and conferences. She has published four Indian patents on facial expression analysis in the field of medical, E-commerce, education, and security. She is a member of IEEE. Dr. Uma Maheswari has done an enormous study and has given contributions in the field of facial expression analysis and applications. She has constructed feature vector for a given image based on the directions and introduced dynamic threshold values while comparing the images, which helps to analyze any image. She has done research on the similarity of images in a given database to retrieve the relevant images. She also worked with convolutional neural networks by giving the preprocessed input image to improve the accuracy. It has been proved that the maximum edge intensity values are enough to retrieve the required feature from the image instead of working on total image data. Prof. Uma Maheswari is the coordinator for TEDxVCE, organized various technical programs and served as a technical committee member and reviewer for various conferences. She has delivered sessions in various capacities.
Prof. Uma Maheswari had received the Best Faculty award under the innovation category for the year 2019 by the CSI Mumbai Chapter.
