This book gathers high-quality papers presented at the Sixth International Conference on Smart Trends in Computing and Communications (SmartCom 2022), organized by Global Knowledge Research Foundation (GR Foundation) in partnership with IFIP InterYIT during January 11-12, 2022. It covers the state of the art and emerging topics in information, computer communications, and effective strategies for their use in engineering and managerial applications. It also explores and discusses the latest technological advances in, and future directions for, information and knowledge computing and its applications.



Dr. Chakchai So-In [SM, IEEE (14); SM, ACM (15)] is Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science at Khon Kaen University. He received BEng and MEng from KU (TH), in 1999 and 2001, respectively; and MS and PhD from WUSTL (MO, USA) in 2006 and 2010; all in computer engineering. In 2003, Dr. So-In was Internet Working Trainee in a CNAP program at NTU (SG) and obtained Cisco/Microsoft Certifications. In 2006 to 2010, Dr. So-In was an intern at mobile IP division, Cisco Systems, WiMAX Forum, and Bell Labs (USA). His research interests include mobile computing/sensor networks, Internet of things, computer/wireless/distributed networks, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems and future Internet. He is/was on Editor/Guest members in IEEE Access, PLOS One, PeerJ (CS), Wireless and Mobile Comput., and ECTI-CIT. Dr. So-In has authored/co-authored over 100 publications and 10 books including IEEE JSAC, IEEE Commun./ Wirel. Commun. Mag., Comput. Netw.; and (Adv.) Android App. Dev., Windows Phone App. Dev., Comput. Netw. Lab, Netw. Sec. Lab. He has served as a committee member and reviewer for many prestigious conferences and journals such as ICNP, WCNC, Globecom, ICC, ICNC, PIMRC; and IEEE Trans. (Wirel. Commun., Comput., Vehi. Technol., Mobile Comput., Indus. Info.); IEEE Commun. Mag., Letter, Sys. J., Access; and Comput. Commun., Comput. Netw., Mobile and Netw. Appl., Wirel. Netw.

 

Prof. Yu-Dong Zhang worked as a postdoc from 2010 to 2012 with Columbia University, USA, and as an Assistant Research Scientist from 2012 to 2013 with Research Foundation of Mental Hygiene (RFMH), USA. He served as a Full Professor from 2013 to 2017 with Nanjing Normal University. Now, he serves as Professor with School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Leicester, UK. His research interests include deep learning and medical image analysis. He is Fellow of IET (FIET) and Senior Members of IEEE, IES, and ACM. He was the 2019 recipient of 'Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher.' He is the author of over 300 peer-reviewed articles, including more than 50 ESI Highly Cited Papers, and 4 ESI Hot Papers. His citation reached 16626 in Google Scholar (h-index 72) and 9878 in Web of Science (h-index 55). He has conducted many successful industrial projects and academic grants from NIH, Royal Society, GCRF, EPSRC, MRC, British Council, and NSFC.

 

Tomonobu Senjyu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of the Ryukyus in 1986 and 1988, and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Nagoya University in 1994. Since 1988, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of the Ryukyus, where he is currently a professor. His research interests are in the areas of power system optimization and operation, advanced control, renewable energy, IoT for energy management, ZEH/ZEB, smart city, and power electronics. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan and Senior member of IEEE.

 

Dr. Amit Joshi is currently Director of Global Knowledge Research Foundation and also Entrepreneur and Researcher who has completed his masters and research in the areas of cloud computing and cryptography in medical imaging. Dr. Joshi has an experience of around ten years in academic and industry in prestigious organizations. Dr. Joshi is an active member of ACM, IEEE, CSI, AMIE, IACSIT-Singapore, IDES, ACEEE, NPA, and many other professional societies. Currently, Dr. Joshi is International Chair of InterYIT at International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP, Austria). He has presented and published more than 50 papers in national and international journals/conferences of IEEE and ACM. Dr. Joshi has also edited more than 40 books which are published by Springer, ACM, and other reputed publishers. Dr. Joshi has also organized more than 50 national and international conferences and programs in association with ACM, Springer, IEEE to name a few across different countries including India, UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Thailand, Vietnam, Egypt, and many more.
