Phosphor Handbook: Process, Properties and Applications provides a comprehensive overview of the latest advances in research on the synthesis, characterization and applications of organic and inorganic phosphors. There is detailed information presented on the characterization of the relevant phosphor groups, such as up-conversion and down-conversion phosphors, inorganic LED phosphors, organic LED phosphors and thermoluminescence and dosimetric phosphors using various physical and chemical advances. Finally, the advances in phosphor technologies are discussed, including current barriers to their use in commercial applications and emerging opportunities.

This book is suitable for researchers and practitioners in academia and those working in R&D in industry in the disciplines of materials science and engineering, materials chemistry, materials physics, photonics science and technology, nanotechnology and physical chemistry.

Vijay B. Pawade is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at the Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, Nagpur, India. His research focuses on rare earth-doped oxide materials and their applications in LEDs, solar cell devices, and photocatalytic processes. Dr. Ritesh L. Kohale is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physics, SGM College, Nagpur, India. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of pyrophosphate-based phosphors for solid-state lighting, and on nanostructured materials for display technologies. He has published more than 40 research papers in international and national reviewed journals and also he has edited book in Nova Science Publisher. He is an editorial board member of American Journal of Optics and Photonics. Sanjay J. Dhoble is a Professor in the Department of Physics at R.T.M. Nagpur University, India. During his research career, he has worked on the synthesis and characterization of solid-state lighting materials, as well as the development of radiation dosimetry phosphors using thermoluminescence techniques and utilization of fly ash. Hendrik C. Swart is a senior professor in the Department of Physics at the University of the Free State, South Africa. His research investigates the degradation of phosphors for field emission displays, as well as developing materials for nano solid-state lighting. He has been key in the development of processes to synthesize and deposit thin films of several types of semiconductor nanoparticles to enhance the color, luminescent intensity, and lifetime of such displays.
