This book presents the proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Maritime Education and Development. Dr. Sanja Bauk is a professor at Durban University of Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Maritime Studies Department. She obtained her PhD at Faculty of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, University of Belgrade (Serbia) in 2005. In 2013 she completed the post-doctoral studies in the field of didactic informatics at Academy for New Media in Knowledge Transfer, Karl Franzes University of Graz (Austria). In 2017 she completed another post-doctoral studies in the field of wireless sensors' network optimization at Institute for Theoretical Information Technology, RWTH-Aachen University (Germany). In 2019 he received the award "Researcher of the year at Maritime Studies" at Durban University of Technology (South Africa). She is the author of three scientific monographs and several university textbooks. As an author and co-author, she published a significant number of papers in scientific journals indexed in reference databases (more than 50), and in other international scientific journals (more than 100).
