This book is a concise introductory guide to understanding the foundations of electrochemistry. By using simplified classroom-tested methods developed while teaching the subject to engineering students, the author explains in simple language an otherwise complex subject that can be difficult to master for most. It provides readers with an understanding of important electrochemical processes and practical industrial applications, such as electrolysis processes, metal electrowinning, corrosion and analytical applications, and galvanic cells such as batteries, fuel cells, and supercapacitors. This powerful tutorial is a great resource for students, engineers, technicians, and other busy professionals who need to quickly acquire a solid understanding of the science of electrochemistry.

lt;p>Dr. Slobodan Petrovic is a full professor at the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), which is home to the only ABET-accredited BS and MS programs in renewable energy. Prior to OIT, he was a professor at the Arizona State University and held appointments at several companies as Vice President and Director of Engineering. Dr. Petrovic received a BS in Physical Chemistry from the University of Belgrade, and his PhD in Chemistry from the Technical University of Dresden, and has more than 30 years of experience in various areas of science and technology. He is the author of the book Photovoltaic Systems: Fundamentals and Applications in Developing Countries (Springer, 2020) and Battery Technology Crash Course: A Concise Introduction (Springer, 2020) has published more than 80 articles in international journals and conference proceedings, and has 24 pending or issued patents. Dr. Petrovic is a Founder and President of the humanitarian organization Solar Hope, which is dedicated to providing solar energy to countries in Africa.
