Acoustics and Vibration of Mechanical Structures—AVMS 2019 (eBook)
XXI, 533 Seiten
Springer International Publishing (Verlag)
978-3-030-54136-1 (ISBN)
This book contains selected and expanded contributions presented at the 15th Conference on Acoustics and Vibration of Mechanical Structures held in Timisoara, Romania, May 30-31, 2019. The conference focused on a broad range of topics related to acoustics and vibration, such as analytical approaches to nonlinear noise and vibration problems, environmental and occupational noise, structural vibration, biomechanics and bioacoustics, as well as experimental approaches to vibration problems in industrial processes.
The different contributions also address the analytical, numerical and experimental techniques applicable to analyze linear and non-linear noise and vibration problems (including strong nonlinearity) and they are primarily intended to emphasize the actual trends and state-of-the-art developments in the above mentioned topics.
The book is meant for academics, researchers and professionals, as well as PhD students concerned with various fields of acoustics and vibration of mechanical structures.
Nicolae Herisanu is currently professor at University Politehnica Timisoara, Romania (UPT) where he taught and researched in the fields of theoretical and applied mechanics, acoustics and vibration for almost 30 years. He wrote together with Vasile Marinca two outstanding monographs published by Springer in 2011 and 2015. For the second monograph, he was awarded the prize of the Romanian Academy in 2017. He is currently a member of the editorial board of several reputable journals. He was involved in many national and international research projects.
Vasile Marinca is presently corresponding member of the Romanian Academy and senior researcher at the Centre for Fundamental Technical Research (CCTFA) within the Romanian Academy, branch of Timisoara. He was previously professor at University Politehnica Timisoara, Romania, where he taught and researched in the fields of theoretical and applied mechanics and applied mathematics for about 40 years. He published more than 200 papers in reputable journals and conference proceedings.
