CCC Sailing Directions and Anchorages - Firth of Clyde
Imray, Laurie, Norie & Wilson Ltd (Verlag)
978-1-78679-164-1 (ISBN)
Firth of Clyde covers everything from the busy waters of the Firth of Clyde and River Clyde to the more remote areas of the wider estuary and connected lochs, including the protected and beautiful Kyles of Bute and Loch Riddon, Loch Fyne and the Crinan Canal. Coverage then extends west and south to encompass North Channel and Solway Firth.
This new edition, updated by Geoff Crowley, continues the long-respected legacy of CCC publications for cruising sailors. The North Channel section has been extended to include details for Belfast itself. New photographs throughout illustrate the text and help orientate the navigator. Details on plans have been updated with reference to the new Imray 2900 Firth of Clyde chart pack for the area. References to Bob Bradfield's useful Antares large scale charts are also included.
Whether you are a local sailor or a first-time cruising visitor, Firth of Clyde is an essential companion in these waters.
Updates and corrections are available via the Clyde Cruising Club website as below.

In November 1909, six men met one evening in Glasgow and formed the Clyde Cruising Club, "to foster the social side of sailing and improve the technical side". Since this modest start, the club has grown to become the largest sailing club in Scotland. As it grew the members expanded this phrase to - "The Objects of the Club are to encourage cruising and cruising races and to foster the social side of sailing on the Firth of Clyde and elsewhere and to do such things as may be desirable to promote the interests of yachting generally." The wording was modernised on incorporation in 2012 but the objects of the Club remain the same. The CCC Dinghy Section at Bardowie Loch was formed in 1932 Loch to spread the enthusiasm for sailing and the technical skills to future generations and is now an RYA teaching establishment with modern facilities as well as a place of sailing for sport and recreation. "I first sailed round Bardowie Loch single-handed then became more ambitious and did the same thing round the world." (Edward Allcard) The club organises cruising races on the Clyde and West Coast during the season and to foster the social side, three musters a year and in the winter, a number of meets with guest speakers. For racing every year the club presents Scottish Series, Scotland's premier regatta for keelboats bringing nearly a thousand people to Tarbert Loch Fyne at the end of May and the North Clyde regatta in September. From time to time the Club organises Cruising events. The club also publish Sailing Directions for most of Scotland's coasts.
