This is the sixth title in this electronics series, which provides a one year introductory course in telecommunications. Telecommunications is a growing and rapidly changing field of electronic engineering. Although it is highly specialized at senior undergraduate level, the technology has applications in virtually all areas of engineering and thus all electronic engineers require a basic understanding of the principles involved. This volume begins by outlining the nature of signals and analogue/digital dialogue modulation before discussing the various transmission systems. As with the rest of the series, maths and physics are kept to a minimum with any more involved maths being included as appendices. There are many worked examples, exercises and self-assessment questions.
