Doppler ultrasound is playing an increasing role in obstetrics and there is much interest in its applications in this area. This book is intended for obstetricians, radiologists and ultrasonographers with little prior knowledge of acquiring and interpreting Doppler waveforms in obstetrics. It covers the statistical background to the interpretation of antenatal tests of foetal wellbeing; the relatively cheap and simple continuous wave ultrasound; and the more complex and expensive techniques: colour flow and pulsed Doppler ultrasound.

Part 3 Pulsed wave and colour flow Doppler ultrasound: pulsed Doppler examination of the normal foetus; the clinical value of waveforms from the descending aorta; Doppler studies of the cerebral and renal circulations in small-forgestation age foetuses; intracardiac Doppler ultrasound studies; neonatal cerebral blood flow; Doppler measurements of maternal cardiac output.
