Thomas Wesselmann was born on 24 Aug. 1965 in Hamm, Germany. He joined HighStep Systems AG when it was founded in 2007 and is responsible for the worldwide sales of the climbing systems. Since he had to set up sales and marketing structures first, the extensive knowledge he had gained from 15 years of sales experience stood him in good stead. He learnt sale at national level in Germany by selling wind turbines to end customers, and international sale at ABB Switzerland by selling of high-voltage switchgear. He gained knowledge for conducting technical discussions during his study for an electrical engineering diploma at Dortmund University. This combination of knowledge coupled with the unique technology of the HighStep system created the basis for conquering the world market.
