Structural Vibration (eBook)

This book develops a uniform accurate method which is capable of dealing with vibrations of laminated beams, plates and shells with arbitrary boundary conditions including classical boundaries, elastic supports and their combinations. It also provides numerous solutions for various configurations including various boundary conditions, laminated schemes, geometry and material parameters, which fill certain gaps in this area of reach and may serve as benchmark solutions for the readers.
For each case, corresponding fundamental equations in the framework of classical and shear deformation theory are developed. Following the fundamental equations, numerous free vibration results are presented for various configurations including different boundary conditions, laminated sequences and geometry and material properties. The proposed method and corresponding formulations can be readily extended to static analysis.
Guoyong Jin is a professor at Harbin Engineering University. His researches interests include structural dynamics and acoustics, vibration of plate and shell structures, active control of sound and vibration. He has published over 60 journal papers in recent years, of which 40 are international and SCI journal papers.
He is the co-author of the book entitled 'Active vibration control technique for marine power plant' (in Chinese).
Awards and nomination to Professor Jin:
[1] Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China in 2008.
[2] Nomination of National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award of China in 2009.
[3] Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Award for Young Teachers sponsored by Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation in 2012.
Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of the journals 'Journal of Marine Science and Application' (ISSN: 1671-9433, Springer), 'Open Journal of Acoustics' (ISSN: 2162-5786, Scientific Research).
He has been invited to be a peer reviewer for many international journals, including: Journal of Sound and Vibration, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, International Journal of Applied Mechanics, Acta Acustica, Applied Acoustics, etc.
