Through Their Eyes
Peter Lang Group Ag, International Academic Publishers (Verlag)
978-3-03911-199-2 (ISBN)
Although the three writers are quite different in several respects, they share one common element that is central to their writings: the depiction of marginal members of society. With reference to Subaltern Studies this study analyses how the subaltern is represented in the works of each writer.
The Author: Nathanial Gardner has a Ph.D. in Latin American Studies from University College London. At present, he is a Lecturer at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. He has published articles in professional journals and has presented his work at national and international conferences.
Contents: The Literary Workshop of Elena Poniatowska - Works by Elena Poniatowska, Silvia Molina and Rosa Nissán - Literary Creation - The Depiction of the Subaltern - Subaltern Studies.
«Le livre de Gardner, en combinant l'étude d'une écrivaine qui a reçu beaucoup d'attention de la part de la critique, avec deux autres figures de second plan, constitue une contribution intéressante à l'histoire de la littérature contemporaine du Mexique.» (Geneviève Fabry, Les Lettres Romanes)
