'An armed citizen, is a free citizen' according to the founders of our nation. 2A, the acronym for the Second Amendment, discusses the weaponization of the federal government by Washington bureaucrats as they attempt to confiscate the guns of law abiding citizens. In addition, the victims of heinous criminal acts and the failure of our compromised judicial system to punish the criminal elements of society are detailed fully. The origin of the right to own arms and the ratification of the Second Amendment are presented in a captivating manner. Moreover, an examination of the Supreme Court cases that have upheld our right 'to keep and bear Arms' is included in the discussion. In the words of our Founding Fathers, there is a natural right of the people to self-defense. Remember 'it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.'

The author of The Hijacking of American Education: How Cancel Culture and Critical Race Theory Destroyed Our Educational System, Bob is the only teacher to have successfully waged war on the teachers' unions, public school officials, and town bureaucrats as an advocate for better schools. He has spoken before the grassroots organization Moms for Liberty local chapter in Florida as well as members of Florida's legislative body and local school board on issues regarding our public schools and libraries. As a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, avid gun collector, and sharpshooter, Bob has decried the efforts of our bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. as they brazenly undertake the weaponization of our government and surreptitiously plot to confiscate our firearms. His namesake 'Carabina' has been widely associated with firearms. During the Mexican Revolution of 1910, Pancho Villa and his army waived their rifles as they rode into combat shouting the popular battle cry, 'Carabina.treinta.treinta' ('Carabina.30.30'). The 30-30 carbine was a Winchester model rifle used by Villa's army during the war. As a taxpayer representative, his highly popular tax seminar, 'How to Beat the IRS at its Own Game', was instrumental in helping eliminate IRS harassment of taxpayers.

Victims of Heinous Criminal Acts

As stated in the previous chapter, prior to the adoption of the U.S. Constitution there was clear acceptance of the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The colonists had a genuine fear of the rise of an all-powerful federal government that could trample upon their rights as free men and confiscate their firearms leaving them helpless to thwart such a takeover. In addition, there was a concern that any such restrictions on gun ownership could imperil their right to protect their families and property from criminals. The Second Amendment was adopted to alleviate those fears.

“My rifle, my pony and me” is a familiar refrain that perhaps best illustrates the importance of firearms to an American during the development of our nation. It is no less important today to our survival as a nation which has become fraught with crime and a government that has failed to protect its citizens. In order to protect ourselves, our families, and our property from the degenerate criminal elements of society, it is incumbent upon every law-abiding American citizen to embrace basic survival skills. It begins with the Second Amendment.

The following criminal acts have been chosen out of countless numbers to illustrate the cruel injustices committed against unsuspecting and law-abiding American citizens. The victims were unarmed, exposing them as “soft targets,” which made them easy prey to their perpetrators. 80

Throats slashed while riding bikes in Daytona Beach, Florida. Oh, the horror! A middle-aged married couple, Terry and Brenda, were slaughtered by a black male while riding their bikes in Daytona Beach. According to a 911 caller who had discovered the victim’s bodies, “ ‘…there’s blood everywhere’.” 81 Both victims had their throats slashed by the alleged assailant. Visibly shaken, the Chief of Police remarked, “ ‘This is probably one of the most vicious and gruesome incidents that I’ve witnessed in my 20 years’.” 82

The assailant, Jean, was arrested and taken into custody by law enforcement personnel. During intense questioning by investigators, Jean confessed to the murders. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and was being held on no bond. In addition, he had a prior arrest record.

Had the couple been armed, would they be alive today? There is a strong probability that at least one of them would have survived the attack.

Mother of four pleads for her life. Four children mourned the execution-style murder of their mother, Christi, an Uber driver from Pennsylvania. The thirty-eight-year-old mom was shot by her fare, a black male named Calvin, even as she pleaded with him to spare her life. According to evidence obtained from the footage of the deceased’s dashcam video, the loving mother of four pleaded, “ ‘I’m begging you, I have four kids’.” 83

Apparently, the gun-toting suspect wasn’t the least bit moved by the victim’s plea that her four children would be left without the love of their mother as he fired a single shot into her head. The twenty-two-year-old black male was arrested eventually and was being held without bail. Prosecutors had announced that they were seeking the death penalty. As of the writing of this narrative, a trial date had been set for the spring of 2023, more than one year after the commission of the crime. Justice appears to move slowly in Pennsylvania.

St. Valentine’s Day massacre.” Another young mother was unceremoniously gunned down from behind in 2023 on Valentine’s Day in South Carolina. The shooting occurred in a Kroger grocery store’s parking lot.

According to reports, the slain White woman and mother of two young children, Alexandria, had gotten into a heated verbal exchange with Christina, a young black woman. At the conclusion of the confrontation, the young mom turned around and began loading groceries into her vehicle. At that moment the alleged assailant pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Alexandria’s children, a two-year-old and an infant, were in the auto at the time of the shooting.

Christina allegedly had fled the scene but surrendered to authorities later that day. She was booked and “…charged with murder, unlawfully carrying a pistol and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.” 84 An investigation into the shooting incident was ongoing at the time of the writing of this book.

The “Combat Zone.” Boston’s notorious “Red-Light District” or “Combat Zone” was aptly named for its reputation as an area for sex, drugs, and death. Surprisingly, its location was not where one might expect to find it in a large city. Facing south of the Zone were the retail and financial districts. North of it were the theatre district and one of Boston’s celebrated hospitals, Tufts Medical Center (Tufts-New England Medical Center until 2008). In addition, rubbing elbows with the Combat Zone was Boston’s “Chinatown.” If a pedestrian wanted to walk from the financial and retail districts to the Medical Center or to the theater district, they would invariably have to pass through the Combat Zone.

Commencing with the early evening hours up through the wee hours of the morning, however, the Combat Zone took on a life of its own. It was a predatory atmosphere. Hookers and their pimps preyed on a gullible public. Drug dealers sold their wares. Porn shops and strip clubs showcased their enticing assets. Moreover, robberies and murders were in abundance in the district.

Two of the most brutal murders that had ever occurred in the Zone were committed by black males against defenseless White victims. Do they come any other way?

We will call our first blood-soaked victim, Austin from Boston. His murder occurred when a taxi carrying him and a female companion had been stalled in traffic on a roadway running perpendicular to the Combat Zone. The female companion’s husband, unable to accompany his wife that day, had asked his friend Austin to chaperone his wife. Austin agreed and by doing so sealed his fate.

Unable to proceed unobstructed to its destination, the taxi had exposed itself as a target to marauding gangs of felons. Two black males approached the taxi and ordered everybody out of the cab. They proceeded to rob the victims. Austin and his female companion had offered no resistance to the thugs and complied with their demands. One of the thugs, however, was not content with the money he had removed from Austin’s wallet. Instead, he had decided to leave his calling card, which was to slit the throat of Austin. Blood poured relentlessly out of poor Austin’s throat. He dropped to his knees on the roadway and cried out for help, but nobody came to his rescue. It should come as no surprise that no arrests were made by the Boston Police Department. Welcome to the Combat Zone!

Had Austin been armed, would he have survived his attacker? Most probably, in words of one syllable, yes.

Our next victim, call him Nick, was a male college student. He was knifed to death by a black pimp, whom I will call Leroy. It was the event that became the straw that broke the camel’s back and led to the dismantling of the Combat Zone. Well, sort of, in a way.

The incident occurred when Nick and his male friends had decided to go into town for some entertainment in Boston’s Red-Light District. Unfortunately for Nick, a black hooker picked his pocket and had stolen his wallet. Nick struggled to retrieve his wallet but was met with strong resistance from the hooker. Suddenly, her black pimp appeared out of the darkness and decided he would defend her from Nick’s attempts to retrieve his stolen wallet. Leroy pulled out a combat knife and proceeded to slash poor Nick to death. This time the Boston Police were “Johnny-on-the-spot” and arrested the pimp.

Leroy was charged with murder. At the trial, the pimp’s attorney rambled on about how his client was simply protecting his employee (the hooker) from being attacked by Nick. The jury returned a guilty verdict, and the pimp was sentenced to twenty years in prison, with the potential for early release based on good behavior. The defense attorney approached Nick’s family in the courtroom and offered his condolences on the loss of their son. He added, of course, how he was just doing his job and it was nothing personal. Yeah, maybe not personal for him, but it was personal for Nick’s family.

If Nick had carried a firearm on that fateful day, he may have been able to thwart Leroy’s attack. The young man would probably have graduated from college and had a successful career. Instead, his life ended abruptly at the hands of a ruthless knife-wielding thug.

That case marked the beginning of the end of Boston’s notorious Red-Light District, the infamous Combat Zone. An infuriated public demanded the dismantling of the Zone. The hookers and pimps, for the most part, were driven out of the area. Additionally, many of the porn shops and strip clubs relocated to other areas. As you walk through the Combat Zone today, there are still remnants of the old days; however, it pales in comparison to what it was in its notorious heyday.

Like a thief in the shadows of the night. Jeffrey, a middle-aged White male and father...
