Richard Jones is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting at the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University. Dr. Jones is a CPA (PA, non-practicing) and has a B.S. in accounting from Drexel University and a Ph.D. in accounting from Rutgers University. Dr. Jones's business experience includes six years as a vice president at a large global banking corporation, where he was a Divisional Controller in Private Banking and, before taking on that assignment, a Vice President in the bank's Accounting Policy Group. Before entering banking, Dr. Jones was a member of the staff of the Financial Accounting Standards Board where he specialized in public utility issues. Dr. Jones began his professional career as an auditor in the Melville, NY office of Arthur Andersen and Company. Dr. Jones has served as a presenter and/or discussant for numerous academic and professional accounting conferences and has authored or co-authored numerous articles and manuscripts that have been published in professional and academic accounting and reporting journals. He has also co-authored a book on revenue recognition and, over the years, has reviewed and edited accounting and reporting publications and manuscripts for the CPA Journal and the American Institute of CPAs. Dr. Jones is an active member of the NYSSCPAs, where he is a member of several professional committees, including the Future of Accounting Education Committee, the Sustainability Committee, Auditing Standards, and the International Accounting and Auditing Committee, where he is the outgoing committee chair. As an educator, Dr. Jones has received several awards for teaching excellence, including the Hofstra University Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award in 2001.Dr. Jones is member of the NYSSCPAs and the American Accounting Association. Jennifer Mensche has been an accounting professional since 1998, providing auditing, financial accounting and tax preparation services to various commercial, personal and not-for-profit organizations. In 2005, she transitioned to providing consulting services to various not-for-profit organizations specializing in programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. She began teaching as an adjunct instructor at St. Joseph's University in 2017 and then secured a full time faculty position in September of that same year. She is currently the Accounting Department Chair, teaching courses that range from the fundamentals of financial accounting to Graduate level research and accounting theory. Jennifer is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Accounting Association. Mark Ulrich is an Assistant Professor in the Business Department at Queensborough Community College of the City University of New York. Prior to his academic appointment at Queensborough, he served as a senior auditor at KPMG LLP and a budget director at a large private university in New York City. He received bachelors and MBA degrees in accounting from St. John's University, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. Professor Ulrich teaches financial accounting and cost accounting. He has been teaching accounting at the college level for over 12 years. His research interests include accounting education pedagogy and the CPA licensure process. At Queensborough, Professor Ulrich serves as a senator on the Academic Senate and serves as co-chair on the Senate's Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness committee. He also serves as a faculty fellow in the CUNY Career Success Fellows program where he researches career and salary outcomes of CUNY graduates with the goal of ensuring that all CUNY graduates earn a living wage out of college. He currently serves in numerous leadership capacities at the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), including Past President of the Queens/Brooklyn Chapter and Director on the statewide Board of Directors. He is also a member of its Future of Accounting Education committee. He was named one of NYSSCPA's "40 Under 40" winners in 2020, and one of the NYSSCPA's "Emerging Leaders" in 2022. He also serves as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Academic Champion for Queensborough.
