Joyce VanTassel-Baska is Professor Emerita of Education at The College of William and Mary where she developed a graduate program and founded a research and development center in gifted education. Formerly, she initiated and directed the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University and has served as a state, regional, and local director of gifted programs and as a high school teacher of the gifted. She is past President of The Association for the Gifted of the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC).
