Geometry is one of the most ancient branches of mathematics. In order to 'understand geometry', learners should be able to infer in a deductive way as well as be endowed with enhanced visual competences. These prerequisites render plane geometry and solid geometry challenging for both teaching and learning. Hence, it is essential to consider creative ways for teaching the various branches of geometry in order to respond to the varied difficulties, while fostering deductive thinking and visual competences. This book aims to provide readers with a broad knowledge of the various aspects of creativity and its assessment and to expose them to creative methods and approaches to the teaching of geometry. The content of the book is grounded in the research literature that engages in creativity in general and in creativity in teaching in particular. The chapters collected in the book present the multifaceted nature of geometry teaching in a creative-integrated way while exposing the readers to the beauty of geometry.

Dorit Patkin is a Full Professor (PhD) in mathematics education. Currently works at the mathematics education faculty of sciences, Kibbutzim College of Education. She was the head of the mathematics department for 8 years and the coordinator at the educational television channel as well as the scientific consultant in this area. Now she is the head of the M.Ed. program in mathematics education and the M.Teach for high school. Her research interests are teacher education and teaching methods, math teaching and education, teaching and learning geometry, exploring students' mistakes and misconceptions in math and professional development of math teachers. Her current project is 'Geometry in 2-D & 3-D'. Atara Shriki is an Associate Professor in mathematics education (PhD). Currently works at the mathematics education faculty of sciences at the Kibbutzim College of Education, Technology and the Arts and teaches undergraduate and graduate students. She headed two Ministry of Education programs: Equity in mathematics education and Reducing the gap between boys and girls in the study of mathematics and science, and served as head of research and evaluation in a unique R&D program funded by the Ministry of Science. Together with Prof Nitsa Movshovitz-Hadar, she wrote Logic in Wonderland: Introduction to Logic through reading Alice in Wonderland, both Teacher's Guidebook and Student's Workbook, published by World Scientific. Her research interests concern the professional development of mathematics teachers, the nurture of mathematical creativity, and aspects related to online teaching and learning of mathematics. Ilana Levenberg is an Associate Professor in mathematics education (PhD). She is currently Head of M. Teach Program at 'Gordon'- Academic College of Education in Haifa. Previously, she was Head of the Mathematics department. Her background is in high school mathematics teaching. She served as a mathematics education academic coordinator and initiated various mathematics school projects, also supervisor of student's graduate works. Her research interests include mathematics teaching, particularly geometry. She has published three co-authored geometry books (with Prof Patkin) and papers about the professional development of mathematics teachers, teaching gifted students and matriculation exams.
